Continuing the series where I look at the top 20 least expensive streets in Street and Glastonbury here in part 2 I look at numbers 16 to 13…
16 – Oxendale (Street)
Average price paid – £139,247. Oxendale is home to 63 dwellings of which 46 are apartments in Bluestone Court. Bluestone Court was recently featured in another of my articles (here). The most recent house purchase in Oxendale was Apartment 28 Bluestone Court, which sold on 05/05/2017 for £175,000. The most expensive transaction that has been recorded in Oxendale is 11. It sold on 19/08/2016 for £257,500.
15 – Ridgeway Gardens (Glastonbury)
Average price paid – £137,300. Ridgeway Gardens consists of 25 properties. The most expensive house purchase recorded to date in Ridgeway Gardens is 4, which sold on 30/09/2014 for £310,000.
14 – Whiting Road (Glastonbury)
Average price paid – £132,615. Just a short distance from Ridgeway Gardens is Whiting Road which, for the average property, is around £5000 cheaper. Whiting Road is one of two streets on Windmill Hill that make it into this top 20. There are 60 dwellings on Whiting Road. To meet the demand for more housing after the Second World War, housing was built on Windmill Hill (or Edmund Hill as it was once known) most of it built by the local authority.
13 – Coachmans Yard (Glastonbury)
Average price paid – £130,428. For number 13 in this list we head into the centre of Glastonbury and just off Northload Street is Coachmans Yard home to 24 modern apartments. The first properties in Coachmans Yard completed on 20/12/2004 (numbers 8 & 9). The most expensive transaction that has been recorded in Coachmans Yard is 22 which sold for £149,250 on 18/01/2007. 22 was sold exactly 6 years later at a loss of £24,250 but has since been re-sold for £140,000. Several properties have sold for £120,000 which is the lowest recorded price for any property in Coachmans Yard. The most recent purchase in Coachmans Yard was 10, which sold for £137,500 on 15/02/2017. At least two of the properties in Coachmans Yard are used as holiday lets.
